Optimyl Benefits is partnering with Goodbill to bring a smarter way to save on hospital claims for its self-funded and level-funded clients. Starting August 1, Optimyl will offer Goodbill’s solution on select plans, reducing hospital charges before the plan pays the provider.
The savings opportunity is massive: Nonprofit hospitals make up over 60% of U.S. hospitals and represent nearly 80% of the claims Goodbill reviews. These hospitals are legally required to offer financial assistance —known as 501(r) discounts — but those savings are often missed. Goodbill flags eligible claims and applies the discounts while the claim is still being processed — delivering major savings for both plans and members.
